Microsoft Planner boards now live inside Outlook and the M365 Copilot app
Why it matters to us: Microsoft is putting the Planner board — personal tasks and shared plans — right inside Outlook and the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, next to email, calendar and Copilot chat. Planner already carries a 'goals bucket' and an agent, so its goal-and-task surface now sits in the exact place M365 users prep for meetings and chat with AI. It deepens the native-suite gravity we compete against. We win on the goal's why kept across meetings and tools, not a task board bolted next to the inbox.
Microsoft message center MC1309747: the Planner experience (view and manage personal tasks + shared plans) is rolling out natively inside Outlook and the M365 Copilot app — 'late July 2026 … complete by end of July 2026.' This is the Planner app surface itself, beyond the Planner Agent that reached Outlook/Copilot in June. The notice makes no mention of connecting Teams meetings to Planner plans.
Microsoft 365 Message Center (MC1309747) ↗Our move
Say: Planner shows a task board inside Copilot; Collabix keeps the goal's why — decisions, risks, dependencies — alive across meetings and across Jira / Azure DevOps, not a list next to your inbox.
Ship: Show a goal advancing across a sprint with provenance + a human approval gate, next to a Planner board embedded in Outlook.
Sell: For Microsoft-heavy teams: we complement Planner — feed it approved, meeting-born work with cross-meeting goal memory + Azure DevOps — we don't ask them to leave M365.

Planner Agent GA completes with a human-in-the-loop 'review & confirm' task card
Why it matters to us: Microsoft is adding a human-approval step to Planner Agent (review-and-confirm before changes apply) — narrowing one of our differentiators. But it's single-task confirm inside Planner, not goal-level approval across meetings and tools.
Planner Agent GA rollout completed late June 2026, surfaced in Outlook (web + Windows) and the M365 Copilot app; a review-and-confirm task card keeps a human in the loop before changes are applied.
A Guide to Cloud & AI ↗Our move
Say: Planner confirms one task; Collabix approves the goal's next step with its full context — decisions, risks, dependencies — across meetings and across Jira/Azure DevOps.
Ship: Show approval at the goal level spanning a sprint, not a single Planner card.
Sell: For Microsoft-heavy teams: we complement Planner with cross-meeting goal memory + Azure DevOps, not tenant-locked task confirms.

Microsoft Planner Agent GA + a new 'goals bucket'
Why it matters to us: Microsoft put GOALS into Planner (objective-tied tasks) and shipped a Planner Agent — landing in our goal-tracking positioning, with tenant lock-in.
Planner Agent in M365 Copilot reached GA on 15 Jun 2026; a new 'goals bucket' organizes tasks around high-level objectives.
