Teams adds a mid-meeting toggle to switch off Copilot / Facilitator / Recap after AI backlash

Why it matters to us: The market is pushing back on always-on meeting AI. After complaints, Microsoft now lets organizers turn Copilot, Facilitator and Recap OFF during a live meeting. It does not move Facilitator into execution — but it proves people want control over meeting AI. That is our content opening: Collabix is human-approved by design and needs no bot forced into every call.

Rolling out early-to-late July 2026 (GA worldwide by end of July): a new in-meeting 'Meeting AI' toggle in the Teams toolbar lets licensed organizers and presenters turn Copilot, Facilitator responses and Recap/Notes on or off mid-meeting. It answers backlash over always-on meeting AI; the rollout slipped about a month from its planned June date.

Say: Content angle: 'Even Microsoft now lets you switch meeting AI off.' Always-on AI in the call has a trust problem; Collabix acts only on what a human approves — no bot forced into every meeting.

Ship: Put 'human-approved, no forced bot' on the site right next to the goal-timeline demo.

Sell: For consent-minded buyers: lead with our approval gate and a portable goal/decision record, not an on/off switch bolted onto a notetaker.
